Our Youth Group meets regularly on Wednesdays at 6:00pm and on Sundays at 10:00am in addition to any special events we may host.
Our Youth Ministry exists to help young people grow in their knowledge and maturity in Jesus Christ and to prepare them for a life-long commitment of service to His calling so that the Body of Christ may be built up and unified in our faith (Ephesians 4:12-13).
Why Youth Ministry?
It is the belief and burden of Calvary Chapel that God has a specific place for teenagers in His plan to show the world His love and rescue it from an eternity apart from Him. Young people are mentioned several times in the Bible in reference to the part they have to play in God’s plan, most notably in I Timothy 4:12. Here, Paul encourages Timothy, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.” Clearly from this passage, God wants to use believers of any age to minister to and serve others. It is the goal of the Youth Ministry here at Calvary Chapel to help teenagers grow in their faith and find their place in reaching the world for Christ.
Opportunities to Serve
In our desire to see young people grow and mature in their faith, we offer several opportunities for youth to get involved in actively putting their faith into action and sharing the love of Jesus with others.
Worship Team
We are always looking for talented individuals to help in leading our youth group before the Lord in songs of praise and worship for our Wednesday night and Sunday morning youth services. This is a privilege we reserve for those whom God has definitely placed a “calling” in their lives. If you would like to contribute to this ministry (and God has given you the gifts to minister musically to others), we would love to have you as a part of our worship team!
Community Ministry
One of the highest priorities of our Fellowship as a whole is reaching our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As a reflection of this, our Youth Ministry regularly schedules evangelism outreaches and service projects that allow our youth to share and express the love of Christ in hands-on, practical ways. We know that God has a plan for each of us in accomplishing His work, and this is simply a step in obedience to His command to take the Gospel to every nation, starting with our own!
